WXC 40 “UPRISING” highlighted by Mcguire-Sindone title matchup

For Immediate Release

The Warrior Xtreme Cagefighting brings its first card of the 2012 fall season to life on Friday, Oct. 19th, and it is sure to be a night of electrifying, high-impact action.

WXC 40: Uprising will take place at the Wayne Tree Manor Banquet Center in Wayne, MI and air live on WXC PPV at www.watchwxc.com  throughout the United States beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET/8 p.m. MT/7 p.m. PT (check full details at www.wxclive.com). WXC 40 will then air on tape-delay in January on multiple networks (also check full details at wxclive.com).

The lineup is topped by the much-anticipated showdown for the WXC world amateur bantamweight title as Jordan Mcguire (4-0) squares off against Mike Sindone (8-2). Five other fights highlight the main card – one which bears a striking resemblance to two of the best shows in the history of the Warrior Xtreme Cagefighting.

“Looking back, WXC 24 and WXC 34 were sensational events in every way possible,” recalled WXC Owner/President Jeff Pitock. “Those cards had lineups that when you first looked at them, there were a lot of questions and some doubts, but when those two shows were put in the books, they were phenomenal. You can get hung up on so-called big names and the results don’t merit the attention.”

“Our best success has come when we focus on matchmaking exciting fights and keep in mind how future scenarios might play out. So we put fighters together who will compete with passion and give everything they have. This is mixed martial arts and a sport, but let’s not forget that, first and foremost, this is entertainment. I want our fans entertained, and we’re going to showcase the fighters that are entertaining and exciting,” Pitock says.

Mcguire vs. Sindone

Fans will certainly get excitement when Mcguire and Sindone meet for the bantamweight championship. Mcguire, who is from Westland, Michigan, enters the title bout riding a four-fight win leaving him with an untarnished record. Meanwhile, Sindone plans to change that, coming off a first round TKO victory with WXC veteran and respected fighter Darrell Humphreys. Sindone taking the qualifying win in WXC 39 “Showdown” and now setting sights on the WXC gold.

Bazzi vs. Fudoli Flyweight Championship

WXC 40 will unveil the real truth of true champions when Jesse Bazzi, the former WXC flyweight champion, returns to claim his belt. Bazzi, on his second defend as champion, lost his belt after a five round war with Michael Gonzalez that went to the judges and leaving Gonzalez as the new WXC flyweight Champion; Gonzalez then turning the belt over to Thomas Fudoli at WXC 33 in Taylor. Since that time, Bazzi has fought his way back up the ranks with three solid wins to being offered the chance at the gold yet again. Fudoli with a flawless record of 7-0, and labeled the best featherweight in Michigan, plans to put Bazzi’s determination to the test. Fudoli coming out of two solid defends at WXC 35 and WXC 38 as the WXC champion with only three more fights away from gaining the true WXC title as “Undisputed Champion”

Johnson vs. Carr Light Heavyweight Championship

The light heavyweights return at WXC 40 as top prospect Andrew Johnson steps up to tangle with current WXC champion James Carr of Flint, MI. Johnson having never stepped foot in the WXC cage is packing an outstanding record from various different organizations, looks to test the shark infested waters of the warrior elite and call out champion James Carr. Carr is still looking for that that first defend after taking home the vacated WXC light heavyweight title in June at WXC 36.

Three More Matchups

Rounding out the WXC 40: Uprising’s main card, the lineup is a trio of bouts that are sure to be wild affairs.

After WXC lightweight champion Keith Bullock vacated his belt just weeks after winning if from Will Frost at WXC 39 “Showdown” says, “My goal was to be a WXC champion before stepping away from my amateur career of mixed martial arts for my family.” WXC wishes Keith the best, but just like in all competitions the show must go on. Having won his qualifying fight months prior, Meech Graham will step up into the #1 contender spot to be challenged.  Challenging Graham for the chance of becoming the WXC Champion is Brandon Maddox. Maddox, a strong player in the lightweight bracket, is returning to the WXC cage after a two year leave.

One fighter in search of much-needed victory is Marcus Maulding. Maulding coming off three well respected losses against three of WXC’s best champions is looking to take a step back and face talent a bit more in his record level. Ali Rahal having three concrete win in the WXC cage. Rahal and Maulding both coming from the same boxing camp and having sparred with one another could only mean that this is going to be a great match-up of the hands.

WXC 40: Uprising’s main card opens up with a bantamweight war between two fan favorites. As Sean Dunn the hometown favorite will face new comer and well respected bantamweight Ray Reyreno.

A formal announcement on the WXC 40 undercard will be released shortly.
